A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket

We have just finished reading this book as a class. We read it right to the end even though we knew the ending was not going to be a happy one.

 *SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ IT YET*

 We've come to the end where the Baudelaire orphans are being whisked away from Justice Strauss in a car, to a destination and new home they know nothing about. Here is the last sentence in the book:

 "The car drove farther and farther away, until Justice Strauss was merely a speck in the darkness, and it seemed to the children that they were moving in an aberrant - the word "aberrant" here means "very, very wrong and causing much grief" - direction."

 What do you think happens next in the story of the children? Can you follow up this ending and tell us what you think happens next?

    What a clever way to finish a story... perhaps one of the children has an unknown contact that they can call upon, or have left a sign that someone else can pick up on... maybe a GPS signal.... perhaps the car gets pulled over by someone in authority.....

    ...........or maybe the children hatch a plan to escape by tricking the driver into stopping the car..........

    I think the children are going to end up in the same sort of saturation in the next book.

    I think that they are going to live in a pretty little house with four bedrooms in the country but one day the violet and sunny get stolen and it’s up to klus and Mr pow to save them.

    They might think they will live a fantastic life with Mr puo but they might not be alearted that Count Olaf might come to get revenge on the Buodalaire fortune or to try kill them again. But that is only if Count Olaf know's their destanation!

    I think that Mr Poe can't find a place for the buodalaire children to live so justice Strauss looks after the children and count olof goes to jail and they live happIy ever after!!!!!!!!!!

    I think Mr Poe made a little mistake about living with him because they might not find a place to live for the Buodalaire orphan's so if Mr Poe can't find one they might live with Justice Strauss instead.

    I think that Mr Poe can't find a house for the children do go to so they just go to live with Justice Strauss

    I think at the end Mr Poe will take the Children to a good home to live. because if they live with Justice Strauss Count Olaf could capture them??

    What an exciting story. I may wear my pyjamas to school on Friday just to see how it unfolds in the movie!

    Mr Poe - has found a home for them in an old house by a beach with an older housekeeper / nanny. Even though she has excellent references .... we are not sure she is all that she seems to be ......

    I think that Mr poe will not find a house for them so they will just live with justice strauss
